With regionals over, everyone's starting to look forward to the main event in July - but the CrossFit Games isn't the only event worth your time this summer. Here's our pick of the best competitions the UK has to offer. Whether you're spectating or competing, these events are bound to be awesome:

Team Thorium

Team Thorium takes place this weekend (20th & 21st June 2015) at Coldstream Farm in Durham, and is organised by the team at CrossFit Wearside SR7. It's a pairs competition, featuring 60 male teams, 60 female teams, and 60 mixed teams - so there promises to be plenty of variety on the competition floor! As well as the competition taking place during the day, competitors and spectators can also choose to camp on site all weekend, and enjoy live music and bonfires in the evenings.

The Thorium events are always well organised, and the qualifiers are open to athletes of all levels - it's a great way to see how you compare to the rest of the UK community! If you've missed out this time, make sure you keep an eye out for their next event.

British Championships

The British Championships is a huge event in the UK calendar, and has been organised by the team behind the Athlete Games, which took part in Manchester earlier this year. Unlike The Athlete Games, which attracted some of the top athletes from across Europe and beyond, everyone competing at the British Championships will be required to hold a valid UK passport.

Make sure you grab a spectator ticket and head to London's Lee Valley Athletics Centre on 4th and 5th July to find out who will be crowned Britain's fittest man and woman! A full list of competitors can be found here.

Wild West

The first Wild West event took place in 2014, and blew the UK community away. The guys at Reebok CrossFit Glevum really know how to put on a decent event - even a technical glitch that interrupted the flow of coffee didn't seem to upset people too much - and that's saying something!

This year, 144 mixed teams will compete again at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, between the 17th and 19th July. It's a beautiful venue, and another opportunity for you to dust off your tents and camp for the weekend. With live music, free seminars, and a 7.3m climbing wall, there's plenty to keep you busy between WODs too - don't forget to come and see us in the vendor area!

European Inferno

The European Inferno is a same-sex pairs competition, first held in Cardiff in 2013. The first event was a huge success, and spots at this competition now sell-out in a matter of minutes. There are no qualifiers for the event, so spaces are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, and it's one of the UK's only all-inclusive competitions - you don't need to be an elite athlete to take part, although lots of them do!

If you're thinking about competing for the first time, this is the perfect opportunity for you to try it out with a friend - but you'll have to wait until next year! Spectator tickets are still available for this year's event though, so head down to the National Indoor Athletics Centre on the 8th and 9th August to see what it's all about.

Tribal Clash

Tribal Clash is one of the UK's favourite outdoor competitions, taking place on Blackpool Sands in Devon between the 21st and 23rd August. It's another team event, with 144 competing to be crowned Britain's fittest tribe. The location is like no other, and - if the weather plays nice - you could be fooled into thinking you'd jetted off to sunnier climes. It's definitely not one to miss, check out this video to see what you can expect:

That's our top event recommendations for this summer - what are yours?
