We've reached the final part of our event series for 2016. This week, we're looking at the best Masters events taking place throughout the year.

Here they are!

Raising the Bar

Location: Reebok CrossFit 3D

Date: 11th and 12th June 2016

Event Type: Individual

Categories: Male and Female: 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-60, and 60+.

Raising the Bar is the most anticipated individual Masters' competition in the UK. As a result, places are in high demand - and 2016 sold out pretty much straight away. There are still places left if you're in the 60+ category, otherwise join the waiting list.

If you've yet to compete in a Masters event, make sure you head down as a spectator. Find out what to expect from your first competition - then make sure you get your hands on a space in 2017!

Masters at War

Location: TRAIN Manchester

Date: 17th and 18th September 2016

Event Type: Mixed Pairs

Categories: Based on combined age: 70-79, 80-89, 90-99, and 100+.

Masters at War is a mixed pairs event, for athletes over the age of 35. It's another popular event, and has recently moved to a ballot entry system. This means, if you haven't got a place already, you're out of luck for this year. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for when the ballot re-opens.

RX Masters Throwdowns League

Location: Various

Date: Various

Event Type: Open to All

This event offers something a little bit different. Several boxes up and down the country are taking part, making it easier for you to get a spot.  The idea is more informal than other events, going back to the old school community roots.

If you fancy rocking up, throwing down with some fellow Masters, and enjoy a few beers/a BBQ afterwards - this is the event for you!
